Music Scholarships

MUSIC EXCELLENCE

Music Excellence Scholarships are awarded to students who demonstrate excellence in performance music as well as strength in academic studies and qualities compatible with the ethos of St Aidan's Anglican Girls' School. Scholarship holders are expected to continue to pursue tuition on their instrument and actively participate in the extra-curricular music program. Competitive entry is based on application, interview and audition. The level of scholarship awarded is dependent on the abilities of the student and the needs of the School. Scholarships are awarded at the sole discretion of the Principal.

Music Excellence Scholarships are available for instrumentalists/vocalists entering Years 7 to 10 who have achieved a minimum of the AMEB Grades listed below, at the time of application. 

Year 7 Scholarship Applications

2026 APPLICATIONS WILL OPEN IN NOVEMBER 2024.
HOW TO APPLY FOR A MUSIC SCHOLARSHIP
1. Submit Online Application

Applications must be made via the online Scholarship Application Form.
In this application you will be required to submit the following documents:

  • Certified copy of a birth certificate
  • Most recent (two years) school report cards
  • NAPLAN results (if applicable)
  • Copy of visa (if not an Australian citizen)
  • Music examination results (e.g. AMEB)
  • Competition results
  • Teacher reference (optional)

2. Submit Video Performance

Students must submit a video performance of two contrasting pieces, maximum 8 minutes in total. Each piece must be performed in one take with no editing. St Aidan's only accepts digital portfolios. Please email these files to scholarships@staidans.qld.edu.au clearly titled as "MUSIC SCHOLARSHIP - CHILD NAME - INSTRUMENT".

All supporting documentation must be received before the closing date in order to be considered.

3. Attend Interview and Live Audition

Shortlisted applicants will be invited for an interview and live audition with the Principal and/or Head of Performance.

4. Await Application Outcome

Successful applicants will receive a letter of offer.
All applicants will be notified of the outcome of their application.
