Archer & Templeton Science and Technology Centre
Our multipurpose Science and Technology Centre, affectionately known as the S&T building, provides our students with world-class science facilities to help foster a love of STEM specialities.
The centre is equipped with state-of-the-art technologies, enabling St Aidan’s students to investigate and explore ideas beyond the realms of what typical classrooms can offer. It is home to physics, chemistry, biology and psychology staff and students.
The S&T building was officially opened in the early-2000s and named after the founding Chairmen of the St Aidan's Foundation - Ron Archer and Bob Templeton.
The building boasts:
- Eight modern laboratories
- A multi-purpose experiment room
- A large 200-seat auditorium
- Board room
The Link
The Link is our School’s Innovation and Design Hub, built with the purpose of providing our students with an environment for design, art, and entrepreneurial, critical and creative thinking.
Completed in 2017, The Link sits in the heart of our Senior School campus and provides modern collaborative spaces for our students to help shape their learning beyond the typical four walls.
The Link is three stories high, and features:
- Twelve multi-purpose classrooms
- Three art classrooms
- Green room
- 3D printer and laser cutter lab
- Makerspace for coding and robotics exploration
- Quiet study space, kitchen and common room exclusively for Year 12 students
- A large central forecourt known as Eunice Plaza
Eunice Plaza, named after Mother Eunice, is a large, bright and welcoming area designed for both interactive group learning and events.
The Link also provides outdoor retreat areas in the form of timber nests for Senior School students to enjoy. The relaxing nooks are featured on top levels of the building to allow students to escape from the classrooms during break times and connect with their fellow peers.
Christine Hartland Centre
The Christine Hartland Centre (CHC) was built in 1989 and underwent an $8 million redevelopment in 2010. It is one of the key buildings for school functions and assemblies and is home to drama rooms, music rooms, classrooms and sports facilities.

Aidan's Place
Our new cafeteria and social meeting area, opened in November 2023, features a state-of-the-art kitchen and self-service area. This exciting new development provides indoor and outdoor seating for 150 people and establishes a much-needed ‘entrance’ to the Senior School campus. It is also home to our relocated O2 café, along new student/staff amenities. This welcoming space offers endless possibilities for parents and alumni community engagement.
Sports Performance Centre, Ambiwerra
Our Sports Performance Centre officially opened in April 2024.
Complementing our current outdoor facilities at Ambiwerra, our new SPC will provide our school with a 96 metre-long indoor court to use for a range of sports including basketball, netball, volleyball, futsal, along with an additional flexible learning space.
The opportunity to develop these comprehensive educational, sporting and community facilities on this site allows us to increase our offerings in sport, health, wellbeing and environmental studies as well as increasing our community partnerships.
These new Ambiwerra facilities will soon offer world leading facilities for our P.E. students, athletes and young sportswomen as well as the staff who teach, coach and mentor them.
The Sports Performance Centre has been designed to overlook the parkland and creek, provide natural ventilation and light, and has an arbour that forms a sunshade canopy to protect the northern edge.
Ambiwerra Sports Precinct
In 1983, St Aidan’s purchased a 17-acre site, five minutes from the Ruthven Street campus, to be used as sporting fields. In 1985, Mrs Geldart, the grandchild of the owners of the original house from which St Aidan’s Anglican Girls’ School was first established in 1929, advised that her grandparents’ house was called ‘Ambiwerra’ which meant ‘girls over there by running water’ and suggested the school take this name for the new fields.
The land, previously used as a dairy farm, became home to a 400-metre oval with eight lanes, two full size hockey fields, three netball courts, three volleyball courts and space for softball, cricket and many other sports.
Fourteen years later, in 1997, the land adjoining Ambiwerra, known as “The Strawberry Farm” was acquired, resulting in an additional 2.5 hectares of land being made available for expansion of the sporting facilities.
The sporting fields are located at the end of Erinvale Street, Corinda, and comprise approximately 10 hectares of land surrounded by the Oxley Creek.
Facilities include:
- Two hockey fields
- Full athletics oval
- Four dedicated tennis courts
- Four combined netball and tennis courts
- Four combined netball and basketball courts
- Full competition lighting
- Change rooms and amenities
- Canteen
Junior School
The Junior School campus sits opposite the Senior School campus on Ruthven Street.
The open nature of our Junior School areas allow bright light and greenery to enter into the learning environments of our youngest students.
The Junior School campus features two buildings: the Main Building and Charma Place. The campus features:
- 15 classrooms
- Specialist art facility
- Central Courtyard
- Junior School Library
The new Pavilion in the Junior School (opening Term 4, 2023) will be home to two additional classrooms, allowing our educators to better nurture the leaders of tomorrow and deliver a future-focused girls’ education.
St Aidan's Chapel
The St Aidan's Chapel, dedicated in 1989, is used regularly for small chapel services and is also available any time for students and staff as a quiet space for reflection and prayer.
The St Aidan's Chapel was designed (together with the furniture) by the Chaplain at the time, Father David Binns, a renowned artist.
The Cross on the outside of the Chapel, with the distinctive birds portraying both Holy Spirit and our School Motto, was designed by Father David and sculptured by Mr Nicholas Seffrin. So too, was the Fransican style ‘resurrection’ cross at the rear of the sanctuary.
The lovely cushions on the front seats, reflecting stories from the Bible, were designed by Year 1 and 2 students in the early 1980s.
Each of the stained-glass windows within the Chapel depict a saint.
