St.Aidan’s Internet Portal setup for new users
Using Internet Explorer, firstly go to the St.Aidan’s website and click on the ‘Members’ link.
· Click on the underlined link for “Secure access to the St Aidan's Internet Portal.
· Install the software directly under the text “CITRIX CLIENT installation below”
https://aidan.staidan.qld.edu.au/citrix/Metaframe/ICAWEB/Ica32web.msi.
The following box will appear:

· Click ‘Run’, you may receive the following security warning:

· Click ‘Run’ again, and the Citrix client installer should run and appear as below:

· Please allow 30-60 secs for the installer to prepare the program. You should now see a prompt stating what is being installed - it will then ask you to click ‘Next’ to proceed. Click ‘Next’ each time it appears, when the program has finished installing click on the box that says ‘Finish’. You have now installed the client to access the portal. Shut down all browser windows for Internet Explorer.
· Logging in to the portal. Restart the browser and proceed to the www.staidan.qld.edu.au website. Click Members area and Secure access to the St Aidan's Internet Portal. Enter your login details in the Username and Password fields, click login, select either 75% or Full Desktop.
· At this point, an “Active-X plug-in”, required to enable the Citrix client to operate, should display in a pop-up window. If you do not see the client in a yellow strip just under the browser bars, stating along the lines of “This application requires the installation of Active-X to run. Click here for options” may be displayed. If you don’t see it, go to Tools -> Internet Options -> Security Tab -> Custom Level . Scroll down to the section “Download unsigned ActiveX controls” and change the setting from ‘Disable’ to ‘Prompt’. Now click OK and restart your browser.

· Return to the www.staidan.qld.edu.au website. Click Members area and Secure access to the St Aidan's Internet Portal. An installer should run and the Active-X software should install on your computer, after you have gone through the standard “click next” prompts. Try to login now – you should see a window message “Connecting to Desktop” and a left–to-right progress bar:

· If you don’t see the desktop, or you receive and error message, one of two things may be the cause:
1. Pop-ups have not been enabled. Go to Tools -> Popup Blocker -> Turn off Pop-up Blocker, or;
2. The Active-X client has not been installed correctly. Go to Tools -> Manage Add-ons -> Enable or disable Add-ons to see if the Active-X file NameCtrlClass is listed or disabled. If it shows as disabled, click ‘Enable’.
· Once either or both of these solutions have been applied or changed, or if the Active-X control is not listed, close down the browser and restart, and again proceed to the login link as described at the top of page 1 of this document.
If you are unable to login please uninstall the Citrix client from Control Panel -> Add/Remove programs, and follow the steps to install the Citrix client again. The steps are listed at the top of this document. Thank you.
