The Outdoor Education program at St Aidan’s Anglican Girls' School is based on the belief that all students benefit from the opportunity to interact with the wider environment. 

We hope to foster:

- an understanding of the complexity and delicate balance within the environment
- cooperation and communication between peers 
- feelings of confidence and competence 
- the desire to master new challenges

Camping Program

At St Aidan’s Anglican Girls' School, the purpose of the camping program is to assist students in

- developing a sense of independence 
- developing collaborative and co-operative living skills 
- developing “real life” problem solving skills 
- interacting with non-familiar natural and man-made environment 
- meeting the challenge of mastery of new activities 
- exposure to new and challenging situations

Different Settings

Our aim is achieved through a program that offers a variety of opportunities in various environmental settings, such as:

- Natural bush 
- River/Dam locations 
- Surf beach

Prep and Multiage
The girls in Prep and Multiage participate in a ‘Late Night’ from 5:00pm-8:30pm and are involved in a range of ‘school camp’ style activities. This is a wonderful introduction to our formal school camp program.

Year Three
Overnight camp: ‘Kindilin’, Redland Bay

Activities include: team building and problem solving games, kayaking, beginning orienteering, bush walking and plant identification.

Year Four
Overnight camp: ‘Thunderbird Park’, Tamborine Mountain

Activities include: thunderegg fossicking, star gazing, study of wildlife, low ropes, team building and problem solving games.

Year Five
Two night camp: Currimundi Recreation Centre, Currimundi

Activities include: canoeing, surfing, raft making, beach olympics, team building and problem solving games.

Year Six
Two night camp: ‘Midginbil Hill’, Murwillumbah

Activities include: canoeing, pottery, orienteering, hiking, team building and problem solving games.

Year Seven
Three night camp: ‘Maranatha’, Yandina

Activities include: mid ropes, abseiling, dam hike, raft making, archery, team building and problem solving games.
